Farm success depends on a number of factors. From weather to nutrient management, managing a near endless stream of information can be a challenge in itself. Nutrien eKonomics puts farming’s most accurate, up-to-date information and research tools in one place, free for all. eKonomics is the go-to resource for farming advice, new developments, ROI tools and more.
Tasked with further development of the eKonomics platform, AdFarm had to continue to highlight eKonomics as a trusted, reliable source of truth and knowledge for producers and growers across North America.

The eKonomics digital crop tools have been a popular feature on the website. To help expand the reach and usability of these tools, we launched an app featuring the calculators, including the Nutrient ROI calculator, Nutrient Removal calculator, Rainfall Tracker and Growing Degree Days calculator.

We saw opportunities in growing the eKonomics platform into a diverse tool for growers, retailers and beyond. Knowing farmers are often overwhelmed with the amount of information available to them, we wanted to frame eKonomics as a simple place to find easy-to-grasp, bite-sized content in a variety of mediums. The new platform centered on the idea of: Any question they have, the answer is eKonomics.
Diversifying the content-driven platform started with the likes of a weekly podcast, The Dirt, covering a wide range of timely topics and helping farmers make better business decisions. Robust crop-specific guides were also developed to provide growers with easy-to-understand comprehensive resources. We also updated the main eKonomics website and created a series of webinars with some of the industry’s greatest minds.
With a strong content development strategy and advertising campaigns to promote the platform and its facets, eKonomics has strengthened its position as the go-to guide for trustworthy farming information. After just one year in the market, The Dirt PodKast episodes have been downloaded over 50,000 times total. Crop guides have been read by thousands. And the eKonomics app retains a 4.5 rating on the App Store.
