We were fortunate to have four keen “AgTerns” join AdFarm offices this summer! From May to August, the AgTerns—with guidance from their mentors—contributed fresh perspectives to our team and gained valuable experience, completing weekly projects that exposed them to all disciplines within the agency and one capstone project tailored to their area of interest over the summer.

Hear what they had to say about their time with us:

Ryan (Kansas City)

“While interning with AdFarm in Kansas City, my experience was nothing short of transformative. Working on interdisciplinary client projects offered widespread exposure to various agricultural sectors. Not only did I broaden my communications skills, but I also formed valuable connections with industry professionals. I feel grateful for the guidance and encouragement provided by AdFarm and look forward to implementing it in the future.

Completing my capstone project for an AdFarm client was pivotal in my overall understanding of communications. With total freedom, I had the opportunity to personalize every component to my career interests. By the end of my internship, I had created a strategic proposal, media kit, blog post and more. Integrating this with my background in beef cattle ultimately led to a presentation that filled me with great pride.”

Jenna P. (Kansas City)

“Throughout the summer I learned about departments at AdFarm by visiting with different teams in internal reviews and having one-on-one shadowing experiences. By completing different projects with various departments, I got full agency exposure that I had not yet had the opportunity to experience. Coming from a strong agricultural background, I enjoyed visiting with other AdFarmers about the different operations each had experience with and sharing more about mine.

For my capstone project, I was able to walk away with several pieces for my portfolio. I worked closely with the PR department to develop components including key messages, a press release and a blog piece. I received guidance every step of the way and felt confident in each piece that I presented at the end of the summer.”

Jenna D. (Calgary)

“My internship at AdFarm has been an invaluable experience, offering a unique opportunity to immerse myself in the agricultural world. Being part of such a dynamic and specialized agency allowed me to explore a variety of disciplines, from social media campaigns to thought leadership strategies and lead nurturing for agricultural clients. I had the privilege of working alongside incredibly talented and supportive colleagues who contributed to my growth, both professionally and personally.

The collaborative and family-oriented atmosphere at AdFarm made every project a learning opportunity, where I could apply my skills and learn new ones. It was particularly rewarding to be involved in initiatives like Farm Voice and contribute to the agency’s broader strategic goals. This internship has not only deepened my understanding of agricultural marketing but has also reinforced my passion for the industry. I am truly grateful for the experience and the chance to be part of such a remarkable team.”

Ava (Calgary)

“My internship at AdFarm was truly an amazing experience that allowed me to grow my skills and explore the various roles an agency has to offer. Over the summer, we were exposed to hands-on projects that enabled us to dive deeply into the different departments at AdFarm. Through this, I was fortunate to prepare a presentation and present it at a client meeting, which was a great way to see AdFarm’s work put into action. To conclude my internship, I worked on a final capstone project summarizing what I’ve learned by creating an event plan that incorporates public relations, strategy, copy development and creative content. I also had many opportunities to shadow AdFarmers through a job shadowing platform and helped to plan and execute the July Farm Voice event.

As someone new to agriculture, this internship was an excellent way for me to learn how the ag community comes together to empower and support one another. Overall, this experience taught me so much and I am grateful to have been a part of the team here at AdFarm.”
